Mayor Larry O'Brien poses with a number of Cubs, Beavers, Scouts and Leaders

Flag Raising

Representatives from Scouts Canada and Girl Guides of Canada gathered at City Hall with Mayor Larry O'Brien to jointly raise their respective flags at City Hall. This first Annual Flag Raising was to help launch the national Scout-Guide week. The concept was spearheaded by Bob Near as a way for Scouting and Girl Guides to be recognized in the greater Ottawa area.
