Garry Galley educates 7 year old Alex Don and his birthday party pals about the dangers of sharing water bottles
Take a Shot for Meningitis Awareness
When hockey fans converged at a recent Ottawa 67’s game, they were surprised to see that Garry Galley, former NHL defenseman and current analyst of Hockey Night in Canada, had teamed up with Dr. Gary Garber to share defense tips about the four vaccine-preventable strains of meningococcal meningitis with hockey enthusiasts at the Take a Shot for Meningitis Awareness booth.
The pair educated hockey enthusiasts and their families about meningococcal meningitis prevention and protection and also provided 67’s fans with free water bottles to reduce the risk of transmission.
Of course many folks also wanted a photo with Garry and an autograph, and he was happy to oblige.
